Professional profile
Dr Julian Chakraverty is a Consultant Musculoskeletal and Sports Radiologist at the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Chakraverty provides diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to elite sportsmen and women, working closely in professional sports including championship football, premiership rugby union and county cricket. He also provides medical support services to Bristol City Football Club.
Following completion of his radiology training in South Wales, he undertook further specialist training in musculoskeletal radiology at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham. He completed a specialist fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging and intervention in Bristol prior to taking up his consultant post in 2015.
Dr Chakraverty completed core training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery before commencing his radiology training. He also trained in Osteopathy prior to his medical degree. He has a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine (distinction award).
Dr Chakraverty has published widely in the peer reviewed osteopathic, orthopaedic, sports medicine and radiology literature.
